Renaissance Film Productions and the Mash Gallery are joining to bring the people of St. Helens Projector, a new exciting independent film night. This will be a monthly event, culminating in the first ever St. Helens International Film Festival in July. The first Projector night will take place on the 24th February at the Mash Gallery, St. Helens.
In order to make this night the huge success we want it to be, we need your help. We are accepting film submissions (no longer than 20 minutes) from all over the world. If you would like to be one of these contributors, all you have to do is send a copy of your film to 86 Robins Lane, Sutton, St. Helens, Merseyside, WA9 3NH.
Once your submission has been posted, send an e-mail to info@renaissancefilmpro.co.uk informing us that you have made a submission and the title of the piece. This ensures that we can notify you as soon as your film has been received. All submissions are FREE!

We greatly look forward to seeing your submissions and hope that you will attend this very special night!

Our first independent film, ‘Olivia’, is being shown at this year’s Threshold Festival in Liverpool, the largest European festival all under one roof.
“The goal for Olivia was to create a film which people would enjoy but not know why. This was done by creating a narrative which didn’t contain or fit into any of the most common genres, such as romance, horror, thriller etc.
The film follows Olivia, a living statue, who catches the attention of an onlooking lady. However, once the lady has gone, it is Olivia who starts to develop the obsession”.
Not only will we be having our film shown at the event, which spans from the 11th to the 13th of February, but we will also be assisting a group of Liverpool filmmakers, who operate under the name Kino, to create new pieces over the three day festival period.
Threshold is working with a large number of musicians, visual artists, and a wide range of entertainers in order to create something truly special in the North West of England.

Renaissance Film Productions has been chosen to film StagePro Academy’s annual dance show on Sunday, the 20th of February, at Warrington’s Pyramid Centre. This event is for the parent’s of the participants of the Academy’s dance school.
Renaissance Film Productions are currently working with Platform, a group of St. Helens-based artists who are in need of studio space. We filmed their first pop-up studio event in the town, and will be documenting all of their upcoming events, in order to create a film to help their cause. One of the works produced on the day was by Claire Weetman (like to http://www.claireweetman.co.uk) who created ‘Recording the Journey’, a piece of chalk street art, which represented a sound wave that had been recorded whilst traveling through the town.
